Diversity, Equality, and Intercultural Relations

In an increasingly multicultural environment diversity is now recognised as a key element of the workplace. Interacting with others of differing cultural backgrounds can present significant challenges. This may be as frontline staff dealing directly with the public as service users or as managers in collaborating with staff and colleagues and in the development of policy and service delivery. Effective performance requires awareness and appreciation of diversity combined with a level of intercultural awareness.
