    • Adoption of agroecological approaches that prioritize biodiversity and minimize the use of synthetic inputs.
  4. Local and Seasonal Consumption:
    • Promotion of local and seasonal food consumption to reduce the environmental impact of transportation.
    • Support for farmers’ markets, community-supported agriculture (CSA), and other direct-to-consumer models.
  5. Tech Integration for Sustainability:
    • Use of technology (e.g., blockchain, IoT) to enhance traceability and transparency in the food supply chain.
    • Precision agriculture technologies for optimized resource use and reduced environmental impact.
  6. Reducing Single-Use Plastics:
    • Efforts to minimize single-use plastic in packaging and promote sustainable packaging alternatives.
    • Innovations in eco-friendly packaging materials.
  7. Water and Energy Efficiency:
    • Implementation of water-saving technologies in agriculture.
    • Focus on energy-efficient practices in food production and distribution.

    • Governments implementing policies to support sustainable agriculture and reduce the carbon footprint of the food industry.
    • Incentives for farmers adopting sustainable practices.

A Sustainability in Food event is being held on October 5th in the Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown.

The event is being organised by Industry leading Publication Food and Drink Business Europe. Food and Drink Business Europe has over 20 years’ experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. As a result of its knowledge of the industry and its contacts within it, it organises food manufacturing events covering the issues that matter to the industry.

The speakers at the Conference are carefully selected from senior management within the food and drink industry, both at home and abroad, who had a successful track record of delivering quantifiable eco results in sustainable food and beverage manufacturing and throughout the supply chain.

This event will bring together key stakeholders and regulatory bodies from food and beverage manufacturers, food retailers, food service companies, the agriculture industry, ingredient manufacturers, plus key suppliers of energy, water, engineering, packaging, supply chain, logistics, emissions reduction and waste to energy technology and services that have been instrumental in creating a sustainable food and beverage business.
