Are you a Transition Year student? Would you like to get a a hands-on, fun and practical insight into engineering at third-level and as a career. Would you like to enter an Engineering Competition for TY Students? Read on!

The STEPS Engineering Your Future Programme (STEPS EYF) is designed to inspire Transition Year students to study engineering.

STEPS EYF is coordinated by the Engineers Ireland STEPS programme and is hosted by third level institutes and industry around Ireland. This annual Engineers Ireland Transition Year initiative is now in its 9th year and to date has engaged more than 2000 students.

This year the STEPS Engineering Your Future Programme will be entirely online. Students will participate in virtual programmes in industry and 3rd level on various dates between March and May 2021.

Engineering Competition for TY Students

All Transition Year Students are invited to take part in the STEPS Engineering @ Home challenge. We are challenging TY students to design or create a device or system that can improve sustainability in their home, school, or community.

This challenge is aimed at all Transition Year students who have applied for a place on a STEPS EYF Programme this year.

How to enter this competition: Send the details of your creative solution to the challenge. Be it a video, photograph, drawing or text to steps@engineeersireland.ie

Entries should be emailed to steps@engineersireland.ie before 5pm on Monday, 31st May 2021.

All entrants will receive a certificate of participation with winners receiving additional prizes
