Applications are open from graduates of medicine and/or biomedical sciences for Postgraduate Research & Teaching Scholarships in Anatomy at UCD Clinical Research Centre for up to four full-time funded positions of up to 4 years duration.
These positions combine cutting edge basic biomedical research training with immersive involvement in the teaching of anatomy at the UCD School of Medicine.
Postgraduate Research & Teaching Scholarships in Anatomy at UCD Clinical Research Centre. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to:
- Complete a higher research degree (MSc, MD, or PhD) *
- Build a strong portfolio showcasing experience in the teaching of human anatomy to medical, biomedical science and allied health students
Strong academic skills and competency in Anatomy are desirable as part of the selection criteria, along with proficient communication skills.
*The following higher degree research projects are available:
- Fertilization and Early Embryo-Maternal Communication: The Effects of Inflammation and Anti-inflammatory Drugs – (MSc or PhD) Prof Sabine Koelle
- The Molecular Basis of Mammalian Mechanotransduction – (MSc, MD or PhD) Dr Thomas Campbell
- Early Detection of Declining Kidney Function in Obesity – (MD or PhD) Dr Neil Docherty
- Supplementation of Sonographic Anatomy with 3-D Printed Models – (MSc, MD or PhD) Prof James Jones
The scholarship includes the following:
- €18,500 annual tax-free stipend, paid monthly
- Payment of 100% of EU rate tuition fees (€7,640 per annum) N.B. U.K. based graduates are eligible for EU rate fees
- Payment of research training and consumable costs
Subject to satisfactory progression in teaching and research at annual review, scholarships can be extended for up to 4 years for the completion of higher degree studies.

About UCD Clinical Research Centre
The UCD Clinical Research Centre (UCD CRC) is an academic led, multi-site centre supporting clinical and translational research. It operates under a single governance structure within the UCD School of Medicine and the College of Health and Agricultural Sciences.
