Are you a manager who is dealing with the difficulties of delivering a quality service? Are you a new manager? Do you want to become a manager or supervisor?
The course is for current/prospective first line supervisors and managers who are looking for key management skills to enhance their leadership, motivational, team-building and management skills in an accredited programme developed specifically for the social care, disability and non-profit sector.
It is suitable for people engaged in continuing professional development. Upon successful completion, you will receive 10 educational credits towards a Level 6 Applied Management award that can be used as a platform to gain further qualifications.
The Open Training College
The Open Training College (OTC) offers courses in social care, management and continuing professional development. Courses at the OTC include applied management, professional social care (CORU approved, Level 7), contemporary disability studies (Level 7), Applied Social Studies/Disability Service Management (Level 8), intellectual disability practice (Level 5) and shorter CPD courses (Levels 5-7 and OTC certification through bespoke training). The College provides accredited training courses and consultancy services to the human services and non-profit sectors.

The OTC’s degree level and professional development courses and programmes provide disability and social care professionals with the skills required to deliver effective person centred services. Their accredited certificate, degree and professional development courses and programmes provide people with the knowledge and skills required to manage effectively in a challenging environment. The Open Training College has spent over 30 years working as training experts. In that role they have combined extensive first-line experience with a detailed knowledge of the strategic and operational dynamics of the space.
