The Law Society of Ireland has introduced a tailored range of specialised micro-credentials across a range of topics, from sports law to artificial intelligence (AI). These short, focused courses will equip participants with legal expertise and practical skills, making them the ideal stepping stones for career advancement. The micro-credentials courses are open to both legal and non-legal professionals.

The AI Act entered into force on 1 August 2024 and is the first comprehensive regulation on AI. It will be fully applicable on 2 August 2026. This Law Society of Ireland Micro-credential: Artificial Intelligence (AI) provides an exploration of the AI Act, how it will impact organisations and how legislation can stay up to date in this constantly changing environment.

In this Micro-credential, participants will be brought through the latest thinking and legal updates in relation to AI, key upcoming dates and how to consider this from both an Irish and an international perspective. This course will ensure that participants have an overview of the current position of AI within organisations and are equipped to deal with the forthcoming legislative obligations as they arise. It would also include a practical session on using AI.

The award-winning Diploma Centre at the Law Society of Ireland has provided continuing professional education and training for over 20 years.
