The National College of Ireland are hosting a webinar Introduction to the BSc (Hons) in Data Science at NCI on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Who should do the BSc (Honours) in Data Science, what will they learn and what career will it lead to?

Karen Campbell, NCI’s School Liaison, will present your questions to Dr Arghir Moldovan, Programme Director and lecturer at NCI; as well as to  special guests:

Dr Alison Keogh, current student HDip Data Analytics

Alison completed a degree in Physiotherapy in 2010, followed by a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2011. After a few years working clinically, she returned to research to complete a PhD in Behaviour Change from UCD. Since 2017 she has been working as a post-doctoral researcher in Insight Centre for Data Analytics in UCD, specialising in human interaction and usability of digital technology across a wide variety of health populations.

Deen Blows, Lead Engineer at TQS Integration

Deen graduated with a BSc in Computing and Software Development, before starting work with a large pharmaceutical company. His interest in data lead him to apply for a role with TQS Integration, which is an Irish company that specialises in data solutions, in particular the Life Sciences industry. Deen has worked as a Lead Engineer with TQS for the last 2 years, and is currently leading multiple projects with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.

Note: The CAO course code for the BSc (Honours) in Data Science is NC025.
