‘Early Medieval Ireland: Continuity and Change’

This is a period of profound change. A new religion is introduced bringing in its wake writing,  a new language and membership of an international organisation. Later the arrival of the Vikings brings the creation of towns and links into a wide and expanding trading network.  This lecture will give an overview of these events and consider how society adopted.
