DkIT launch 8 New Honours Degree Courses to Meet Industry Demand

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) recently launched eight new Honours Degree courses to meet the ever-evolving demand in an everchanging jobs market.

This new suite of courses which are being offered in the School of Business & Humanities, were developed, and created with input from employers, graduates, current students and professional bodies.

This September saw the first students enrol on these courses and the Institute has already seen a phenomenal take-up on some of these newly launched programmes with the BA Honours in Sports & Exercise already having over 40 students registered for this academic year with a further 25 students enrolled on the BA Honours in Digital Marketing and Strategic Communications.

 

Dr Patricia Moriarty, Head of School of Business and Humanities said, “We are delighted to officially launch our suite of eight new Honours degrees today.  These programmes have been designed with the input of industry to ensure that our graduates are equipped for the world of work through placements, guest lectures, graduate attributes and completion of work-based projects.  Our focus in the School of Business and Humanities at DkIT is to create employable graduates that meet the needs of our local, national and international industries”.

Shane Hill, Head of Department of Management and Financial Studies added, “The addition of three new Business Level 8 Honours degrees augments already comprehensive offerings within the School. The new courses have been developed in close consultation with industry partners and offer participating learners a variety of learning experiences including a semester of Work Placement, the option of a Study Semester/s Abroad, and “live” industry Case Studies.
