An Cosán are among the Founding Members of the Digital Ireland Network and are hosting Digital First Day Event – Become a Digital Champion, as part of ‘Digital First Day’. The online event takes place on Wednesday 16th November at 11am-12pm

Digital First Day Event – Become a Digital Champion

  • A one-hour digital inclusion meetup for community sector workers across Ireland​
  • Learn about the Digital Divide in Ireland
  • Find out more about An Cosán’s pioneering Digital Inclusion work, about the digital tools, platforms and frameworks we use and the supports we provide to our Community Partners and Digital Champions.​ Digital tools are helping equip adults across the country with the skills and confidence needed to fully participate in today’s digital world.

Who is this Workshop for?: ​

  • Community educators, community development practitioners, volunteers working within the community and voluntary sector in Ireland
  • Anyone who is working directly with underserved / marginalised communities and who supports individuals who are furthest behind in your community

For thirty years, An Cosán has been delivering lifelong learning in Tallaght West, teaching from early years to adulthood in communities that struggle with injustice and inequality. Virtual Community College (VCC) is working to create a future in which further and higher education can become a reality for those affected by injustice and inequality and all those who wish to continue their education in an accessible and affordable way online. An Cosán cater for learners who have not benefited from mainstream education and offer additional distance learning supports to all learners so they can achieve their full potential. The vision is to reduce the digital divide and support learners to achieve academic excellence through the use of online educational technologies.
