Here at Courses.ie, we’d like to put special focus on the innovative ‘Training The Trainer’ programme organised by our friends at Maynooth University. This Level 7 Certificate in Training and Continuing Education is perfect for new and experienced trainers alike. This course was developed to the highest industry standards by a team of adult educators, HR and training professionals, and organisational psychologists. As a result, Learners will achieve a quality, relevant and widely recognised training qualification through a unique blend of face to face workshops and online learning.

Whether you’re a trainer who wishes to upskill, an individual who wants to embark on a career in the area, a manager responsible for training your team, or a learning and development professional, this course has something to suit your needs.

Course Content

Over the course of your 5 months training, you will cover four mandatory modules:
1. Assessing Training and Development Needs.
Introduction, Training Models, Job Analysis, Training Needs Analysis
2. Designing a Training Programme.
Learning and Motivation, Training Design, Training Outcomes and Objectives,
Training Methods
3. Training Delivery.
Effective Training Delivery, Trainer Styles, Communication and Interpersonal
Behaviour
4. Training Evaluation and Contemporary Trends.
Assessing Training Effectiveness and Evaluation, Feedback, E Learning,
Contemporary Trends

‘Training The Trainer’ Locations & Dates

The courses kick off in October and January each year. While the programme runs in two locations, Maynooth Campus and Cork, in-company training is also available.

Students will have to be available for five workshops and budget 8-10 hours a week for course work. Tempted? The next courses will run in Maynooth and Cork on the following Saturdays:

  • 20 October
  • 17 November
  • 15 December
  • 12 January
  • 9 February

Administration

You’ll be in excellent hands. The tutors, or if you’d prefer, the Trainer Training Trainers, are selected based on their subject knowledge, industry experience and their ability to engage with, support, and develop adult students. Not only this, but learners will also receive support between workshops by telephone, email and online.

Best of all, there’s no exams. To get your qualification, you just have to submit a portfolio of coursework plus a final assignment to Maynooth University for assessment, and finally make a brief training presentation.

Presently, the course fee is €1250 per student. If this is a bit much for you, no problem. Maynooth University are flexible enough to set up a payment plan if you need it. While there are no formal entry requirements, to take this course you do need to be 21 years of age or over, and have broadband internet and basic IT skills.
