This full-time QQI Level 5 course is designed for anyone interested in working as a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) or supporting individuals with additional needs across schools, community services, or healthcare settings. With modules in Special Needs Assisting, Intellectual Disability Studies, Community Inclusion, and Facilitating Learning, learners gain the skills and understanding to make a real difference. The course also includes accredited training in Lmh Sign Language, Occupational First Aid, Child Protection (Tsla), and People Moving and Handling. Students benefit from practical work placements, guest speakers, field trips, and the opportunity to take part in the Erasmus+ programme in Mlaga. Graduates can move directly into employment or progress to QQI Level 6 Advanced Training in Special Needs Assisting and Inclusion at SCFE.
