Aim
This one year course is designed to further develop and enhance your knowledge and skills to work at a supervisory or management level in the childcare service.

One module may be carried from Level 5

Work Experience
A period of 120 hours is required for this programme. This may take the form of one day per week for the academic year and/or a block release. The Course Coordinator will inform the students of the format at interview.

Career Opportunities
This qualification enables graduates of this course to work at supervisory level in most ECCE services. It will enable them to work on their own initiative or afford them the possibility of setting up their own childcare service.

Progression:
Graduates who achieve the required standard may be eligible to apply for advanced entry to 2nd year of a degree programme in this vocational area. Entry requirements vary from college to college.
