SOLAS has unveiled The Future Skills Ireland podcast, a new series that brings real-world career journeys and expert discussions on Ireland’s evolving skills landscape to your ears. Each episode explores how essential skills, from AI literacy to lifelong learning, are shaping tomorrow’s workforce, drawing on national research and the stories of individuals adapting to change.
As the lead agency for further education and training (FET), SOLAS partners with colleges, industry bodies, and community organisations to build an inclusive, responsive FET system. By anticipating future trends and identifying emerging skill gaps, SOLAS helps ensure that learners can upskill, reskill, and navigate career transitions smoothly.
In this series, Shauna Dunlop, Director of Research, Future Skills Needs, Statistics and Risk at SOLAS, delves into topics ranging from guidance and construction to the broader future-skills ambition for Ireland, highlighting how strategic, creative approaches to skills development will underpin our economy and society in the years ahead.
