After the launch of the OECD Digital Education Outlook 2026: Exploring Effective Uses of Generative AI in Education, the OECD “Smart Data and Digital Technology in Education” project team organises a two-day international conference that will bring together leading researchers, country officials, international organisations, EdTech representatives and a wide range of education stakeholders to discuss in greater depth the main findings of the report and the lessons learnt from the project’s peer-learning activities. The conference aims to:

Offer a wide audience the opportunity to hear from and exchange with the Digital Education Outlook’s authors on the latest research evidence on the best uses of GenAI for learning, teaching, and streamlining administrative operations
Reflect on the Digital Education Outlook’s insights from the perspectives of different stakeholders, including teachers, governments, companies and young people
Learn from diverse countries’ approaches to steer the development and uptake of educational GenAI tools that meet quality and safety standards and align with pedagogical requirements
Envision what the future of GenAI in education looks like.
