The HEA Open Education Event to Inform Policy and Practice taking place on 20 May 2026 is a national event informing the strategic development of open education in teaching and learning across Ireland’s higher education sector.

Wednesday, 20 May 2026, 10.00AM – 4.30PM

The Higher Education Authority will host a national event at Munster Technological University in May to inform the strategic development of open education in higher education. The event will feature keynote contributions from Dr Robin DeRosa (Open Education Network, University of Minnesota) and Dr Catherine Cronin (independent open scholar), alongside contributions from Prof Lawrie Phipps (Jisc) and Prof Peter Bryant (University of Sydney Business School). The programme will also include panel discussions, short presentations and interactive sessions supporting engagement across policy and practice.
