Time is ticking if you plan to sign up for the fantastic selection of evening programmes ran by Liberties College. In fact, Wednesday 12th September is your last chance to enroll. Don’t be envisioning past leaving cert horrors either; these programmes are taught by professionals in a comfortable environment. You’ll have support from their administration staff and small class sizes mean you’ll have plenty of face time with your tutor. Here’s a few below to whet your educational appetite:

Primary Course in Food Safety, Environmental Health Association Accredited – 3 wks. @ €100

This course is approved by the Food Safety Authority. The objective of the Primary Course in Food Safety is to prepare people for work in the licencing and catering industries. Students will learn about safe and hygienic practices when handling food and beverages. The course covers microbiology, food contamination, food hygiene law, personal hygiene, cleaning procedures and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (H.A.C.C.P.). Assessment will consist of a written exam and candidates must attain 50% in order to pass. The Primary Course in Food Safety certificate is valid for 5 years.

Maths for Parents and Adults – 8 wks. @ €70

While primarily designed to help parents with their children’s maths homework by covering topics that are included on the school curriculum this course is also suitable for adult students wanting to improve their maths. The curriculum will adapt to the level/needs of the student and is based on topics taken from the post-primary maths syllabus. It will also demonstrate ways to bring maths to life at home, helping to make the subject relevant to everyday life.

CompTIA A+ PC Technician – 20 wks. @ €380

This A+ PC Technician course is widely recognised as the industry standard for entry-level IT technician jobs. It teaches problem solving and troubleshooting skills enabling employees function effectively in a tech support role within any small to medium enterprise. Students will gain practical hands-on experience in PC Repair, software & operating systems, network administration, information security, cloud computing, and troubleshooting of both desktops and mobile devices. The course covers the topics accessed in the A+ Certification Examination. Teaching will provide real-life scenarios in order to practice the tasks tested in the examination and so master the fundamentals of PC hardware and Windows system software.
