There is a significant demand for specialized training in port and offshore energy operations as
emphasised by numerous Irish, European and International reports. The Irish
government has committed to spending 100 billion euros by 2050 as Ireland pushes for a target
of 37GW of offshore wind energy production. Estimates indicate that this will result in 12,000
– 15,000 additional jobs to Irelands maritime economy. This will be in addition to the 32,000
workers currently employed within Irelands maritime economy. Potential learners include
