Traineeship in Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching – Exercise, Health and Fitness (Kilbarrack)





Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education has developed an exciting new Traineeship to meet the growing demands of the Health & Fitness Industry. The course aims to deliver solid practical training and the understanding of Nutrition, Exercise & Fitness necessary to work with the public within the sector. Participants will have the opportunity to select modules based on their particular area of interest in order to developing the skills, knowledge and competency to work in the sports & Fitness sector.

Course Structure

This 26-week course combines classroom-based learning days in Coláiste Dhúlaigh with work – based learning days, delivered by our host industry partners.

 

Course Content leading to QQI L6 Certification

  • Nutrition and Health or Sports Nutrition
  • Sports Psychology or Health Promotion
  • Work Practice
  • Start your own business
  • Digital Marketing
  • Personal Trainer ( ITEC level 3) – REPs approved

 

Industry Certification

  • PHECC – First
  • Manual Handling
  • Basketball Coaching
  • Lifestyle coaching

Fees/Allowance

There are no fees for Traineeship courses. Applicants may be entitled to travel expenses or a meal allowance. Those in receipt of a Department of Social Welfare payment may be able to continue to receive payments, please check with your DSP officer. €10 euro per day will be offered to cover travel expenses while on a work placement.

Applicants must hold one of the following: QQI level 5 certificate or above, LCA or Leaving Cert.

Mature students, and those without a formal education, are welcome to apply for consideration.

Applicants must have a willingness to learn on the job and the ability to commit to the course.

Applicants whose first language is not English may be asked to complete an English proficiency test prior to acceptance.

Please note that applicants outside of the EU must hold a Stamp 4 letter to be eligible to apply for the programme.
