An eight-week online course in audiobook narration, which explores how to approach the delivery of text in an attractive way to listeners. This course looks at:

  • Techniques for breathing life into different styles and types of writing.
  • How to approach narrative and characterisation.
  • Ways to keep descriptions interesting.
  • How to make the actor’s voice compatible with styles including fiction, journalism, and factual writing.

    Thinking about Thought: Ideas in history

    How might we understand how people thought in past centuries?  About the natural world, or the supernatural? About ways to do politics? About their own past? This module offers an introduction to ‘intellectual history’ or the ‘history of ideas’, ways of doing history which attempt to answer these kinds of questions.

    This course runs for four weeks every summer at The Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art, Trinity Technology and Enterprise Campus, Pearse Street at Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2.
