Practical Data Management and Reporting with Power BI is designed for public service professionals who want to elevate their data and reporting skills. It focuses on improving data quality, reducing risk, and introducing practical ways to integrate and analyse data using Power BI and structured data modelling techniques.
The one-day course takes a practical, hands-on approach, beginning with existing Excel-based workflows. Participants will learn when Excel should continue to be used as-is, and when Power BI is better suited to integrating multiple datasets, producing repeatable reports and visualisations, and supporting improved decision-making.
A key focus of the day is applying skills to real world data scenarios. Power BI sessions include guided practical exercises using training datasets, so participants can relate the learning directly to their own work.
This course reflects current data management best practice and the role of visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI in producing repeatable, reliable reporting across the public service.
The course is delivered at the IPA in Dublin. All participants who complete the programme will receive a Certificate of Completion.
