Pickleball is going from strength to strength in Portmarnock!
A racquet sport combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong and is created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

Novice class on Wednesday evenings (This class is suited to students with previous pickleball experience.)
Beginner class on Thursday evenings
New Term – Please note that these classes are a continuation of our last term and only suitable for players who have played last term.
Wednesday 23rd September 2026 – 12 weeks 7 – 8:30pm – Novice (players with some experience) €70
Thursday 24th September 2026 – 12 weeks 7 – 8 pm – Beginners €60

About the Tutor: Debbie Brown
Debbie Brown is a California native and former college tennis player and a
three-time national champion squash player in the over 35 and 40 age
groups, winning the silver medal in the World Masters in Portland, Oregon.
She has played squash in World Masters events in Melbourne, Australia,
and both Sheffield and Birmingham, England, and she represented Ireland
in Home Internationals.
Debbie was the Assistant Squash coach at the Santa Barbara Athletic Club
in California, for over 22 years, having obtained a Level 2 certified squash
coach designation with US Squash. She is also a British Padel – Level 1
certified padel coach and she holds a Tennis Ireland Level 1 certification.
She is currently the Padel Director at Portmarnock Sports & Leisure and
she is the Youth Development Director with Squash Link, Dublin Tennis
Director at Malahide Castle Tennis.
Debbie is an International Pickleball Federation Ambassador and has
played in pickleball tournaments throughout Europe. She brought the first
ever Dublin Open to Ireland where 85 international players played
