Person-Centred Care

Overview

What is person-centred care all about? It is a term that was coined in the 1940s to indicate how service users feel about customised care. The Person-Centred Care course aims to teach you what it means to tailor your services to meet the requirements of service users. The objective is to demonstrate that you care for the people in your care, rather than the focus being on the service itself. You will learn to identify the needs of people in your care, support and meet their requirements to ensure they lead happy and fulfilling lives. This is a fantastic course to get started on if you wish to or already work in the health and social care sectors.

Key modules will be fully explored and you will be equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge of what it means to understand the individual’s wishes, respect their privacy and uphold their dignity. You will learn how to deliver and be successful at person-centred care in your day to day duties. The end goal is to work towards ensuring the best interest of your service users are prioritised at all times.

The Person-Centred Care course features practical tips and advice on why it is important to follow the appropriate standard to promote emotional and spiritual wellbeing and encourage service users to maintain their self-esteem. This is a CPD certified course which demonstrates to potential employers that you are continually developing yourself, and will make you a desirable candidate across the health and adult care sectors.
