Entry RequirementsApplicants will normally hold a 2.2 Honours degree (at level 8) with a major subject/component in one of the
following areas: Education, Visual Arts, Music, Drama & Theatre Studies, Dance, Creative Writing.
Applicants who have a degree major in other disciplines may be considered if they have substantial and relevant professional experience of the arts and education greater than three years. *
Other applicants who have substantial and relevant prior experience and/or learning may be considered. *

    The Graduate Diploma in Adult and Further Education is a one-year full-time programme providing an academic qualification for teachers in adult and further education.

    Local History

    This programme is offered jointly by faculty from the Department of History, Mary Immaculate College and the Department of History, University of Limerick.

    2 years part-time

    Education - Special Education

    This programme, which is organised by the Department of Special Education, is for Learning Support teachers, Resource Teachers, LS/RTs, teachers in Special Schools, qualified teachers who are designated Learning Support or Resource Teachers, and who spend a minimum of 12 hours per week with students who need learning support or special education.

    The course runs from September to May of the following year and involves block release from school for designated periods (a total of eight weeks), and four weekends (Friday evening, Saturday).

    Certificate in Christian Leadership in Education

    The part-time Certificate in Christian Leadership in Education at Mary Immaculate College is designed to augment other qualifications participants may have achieved in areas of leadership and management so that they have the knowledge, competence and skills needed to lead a faith-based school.
