Leaving Certificate - French (Ordinary and Higher Level)

Improve French in a supportive environment. Small classes give excellent preparation for Oral and Written Examinations .

Approximately two years’ experience of learning French necessary for this course. Oral examinations will take place in March/April 2024 as well as written examinations in June 2024. If you like French and are comfortable with the basics, studying Leaving Certificate French will give you a thorough language training in speaking, listening, reading and writing. The structured approach will ensure progress and is an excellent opportunity for current Leaving Certificate students to get extra help in a small, friendly class. The class is also suitable for adults who would like to improve their French and measure their own progress. Mastering a foreign language provides wonderful opportunities for travel and broadening cultural horizon

NOTE:

1. All courses are in preparation for Leaving Certificate examinations of June 2024.
2. Booklists to be supplied by teacher unless otherwise stated.
3. For detailed syllabi, exam papers and general information on the Leaving Certificate please
go to State Exams Commission website at www.exams.ie
4. It will be possible for registered students to sit the Leaving Certificate examination in
Crumlin College in June 2024 as External Candidates. Students enter and pay for their exam
on www.exams.ie in January 2024. There used to be an examination fee which was
approximately €100 for one subject. It has been the custom that medical card holders don’t
pay an examination fee. The examination fee has been waived since COVID -19 but may be
re-instated in the future.
5. Extensive private study and homework is essential for all Leaving Certificate subjects.
