Course Description
Irish Foundation Level Term 1 (IR01)
This course is suitable for a dedicated beginner and may be of interest to new Irish residents who wish to help their children with their Irish schoolwork or anyone who wishes to brush up on their Irish. We are integrating our short Irish language courses with the Leaving Certificate Irish Foundation level. This highly structured course will give students basic competency in speaking, listening, reading and writing Irish. It is not compulsory to sit the Leaving Certificate examination though the class is dedicated to this aim. This class will continue in January 2024 (subject to sufficient enrolment) and fees for Term 2 are payable separately. Oral examinations will take place in March/April 2024 as well as written examinations in June 2024

| Entry Requirements | Discover different ‘hands’ or styles spanning from the 4th Century to modern day free-style brush lettering. Learn the classic calligraphy scripts: Celtic Uncial, Italic, Gothic and Copperplate cursive and apply in class projects. Materials fee of €20, payable to teacher, applies to include pen, nibs inks and paper. |
