Course Description

Global Justice and Human Rights: A Comprehensive Framework

This free online course explores human rights, both individual and collective, and justice from a global perspective. Many people assume that rights and justice are universal, yet they do arise despite cultural and sociopolitical shifts. This course examines human rights, contrasting individual rights to collective rights and civil and political rights to economic, social, and cultural rights. As we explain, human rights law can be used to achieve environmental justice. Various perspectives on global fairness and arguments for and against it are also addressed.
