Crochet with Adesola (Beginners 07, Improver 08)
(For both Right Handers and Left Handers )
Activitites for the classes, which are expected to run for 8 to 10weeks:
Aim: The aim of this course is to introduce participants to the creative and therapeutic
world of crocheting. In this course, participants will be introduced to basic stitches in
crocheting, tools for crocheting, and techniques
Objectives:
To familiarise participants with crocheting history, materials and tools
To introduce participants to the various terminologies in basic crocheting
To learn how to crochet (Slip knot, Slip Stitch, Chain Stitches, Single Crochet /
Double Crochet Stitches; Double Crochet/Treble Crochet stiches)
To introduce participants to working rounds
To introduce participants to making Motifs
To introduce participants to turning chains
To introduce participants to crocheting abbreviations.
1st class-Introduction
• History of the Art of Crocheting
• Crochet Threads and hooks
• Types of crochets
• Crochet abbreviations (Differences in US/UK terms)
• How to make a Slip knot
2nd class
• How to make Chain Stitches
• Correct and incorrect yarn over
3rd class
• Introduction to Double Crochet (UK), Single Crochet (USA) and Turning chain
• PROJECT (CROCHET 10 ROWS WITH SINGLE CROCHET (USA) STITCHES)
4th class
• Keeping crochet work in rows straight
• REVISING THE ASSIGNMENT
5th class
• Introduction to Treble Crochet (UK), Double Crochet (USA) and Turning chains
• Joining a New yarn
6th class
• Brief introduction to rules about stitches and turning chains
• PROJECT (CROCHET 10 ROWS WITH DOUBLE CROCHET STITCH)
7th class
Introduction to Crocheting Motifs using Single Crochet and Double Crochet (USA)
• Working Rounds and closing with slip stitch
• Making Small Motifs with both Single Crochet and Double Crochet
PROJECT (CROCHET A 5 ROUND MOTIF)
8th class
Review Project with class
Learn how to Increase and Decrease stitches
9th &10th class
END OF CLASS PROJECT BEGINS 2 WEEKS
• MAKE A NECK SCARF USING SINGLE CROCHET
