Creative Writing Beginners (on-site)

Learn techniques for writing short stories, poetry and memoir with a professional writer. Participate in creative writing competitions.

The course plan is based on the idea of a “Writer’s toolbox”: some tools are essential, some you need to try, see if it works for you. We cover techniques for handling dialogue, description, voice, minimalist style, stream-of-consciousness, pacing, and even humble punctuation. Editing skills forms an important part of the course.

It is suitable for those who have done some writing on their own and need to knock their writing into shape, and for those who want to extend their skills.
