Art, Design, and Mixed Media is a broad one year Fine Art and Design Portfolio Course with a long history of success with NCAD, DIT, IADT, LSAD and international colleges.

The course enables students to develop creative and conceptual ability and skills across the key areas of Fine Art practice,- Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Print-making, Combined Materials, Figure Studies and Fine Art based Analogue /Darkroom Photography.

Whilst tacking specific Third Level Art College Briefs, projects are broad enough to allow students to develop a portfolio suitable to their own personal interests in Fine Art, Design, Photography, Fashion, Illustration etc.

Work Experience takes place in the first term with a two week block of creative practice. It begins with a week of cross-city location drawing, painting, photography and notebook research, followed in the second week by a visiting artists workshop and studio based collaborative project in 3D and Combined Materials, constructing wearable and hybrid Sculptural art-works .

A week long art educational trip takes place outside of Ireland after college portfolio submission, (normally to Paris or London) to inform and develop students knowledge of the arts.

Entry RequirementsFive O6/H7 in Leaving Certificate/LCVP or a merit in Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI level 4 Certificate. Art Portfolio (See guidelines). The academic entry requirements may be waived for mature applicants (21+).
