Social Media and the Law Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) at The Law Society of Ireland is a free online course that is open to all.

Social Media and the Law Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) starts on Tuesday, 30 May 2023 @ 6:00 pm. The course runs over a five week period with materials for the weekly modules released every Tuesday in the form of a number of short video presentations from expert contributors.

Social Media and the Law  Free Online Course at The Law Society of Ireland

This year’s MOOC will provide participants with a comprehensive guide to the key social media issues arising in the context of changing Irish and EU regulations, together with an examination of other key social media developments and trends. Expert speakers, media lawyers and academics will examine many topics including online safety legislation (Online Safety and Media Regulations Act 2022), online harassment and trolling, disinformation/fake news and child safety online.

This course is open to everyone and anyone who has even a general interest in learning more about social media and the law. It will be of particular interest to legal professionals, trainees, barristers, students and to those involved in the social media spheres, either in a professional or personal capacity. We also warmly welcome participants from other disciplines and jurisdictions who have an interest in learning more about social media law from an Irish perspective, for comparative purposes.
